Frequently asked questions

Answers about pricing, credential security, cross-device sync, and supported protocols.

Is Moorix free?+

Yes — Moorix is free to download and try on Windows, macOS, and Linux. Grab the installer from the GitHub Releases page.

Where are my passwords and keys stored?+

In an encrypted vault (AES-GCM) protected by a master password, with OS keychain integration (Windows Credential Manager, macOS Keychain, Linux Secret Service). They are never written to plaintext config files.

How does cross-device sync work?+

Moorix syncs your configuration through your own Google Drive. The payload is end-to-end encrypted and syncs automatically in the background, so your connections follow you between machines.

Which protocols are supported?+

SSH (password and private-key auth), Telnet, and Serial (Serial on desktop). SFTP powers the file manager, and SSH powers Local (-L) and Dynamic/SOCKS5 (-D) port forwarding.

Do I need PuTTY, FileZilla, or VS Code alongside it?+

No — that's the point. Moorix combines the SSH terminal, dual-pane SFTP, and a built-in code editor into a single window so you don't have to switch apps.
